CBMM has engaged our expertise to initiate a comprehensive overhaul of their existing office layout. The primary goal is to shift from a confined, segmented structure to an open-plan setting that optimizes space utilization and encourages collaborative efforts among team members. This endeavour is motivated by the need to accommodate around 20 workstations, establish areas for focused work, ensure ergonomic functionality, and instil a commitment to sustainable design practices.
The current office spanning 4000 sqft, presents several challenges that impede both functionality and aesthetic appeal. With 14 seating spaces comprised of enclosed rooms and huge workstations, the layout fails to effectively utilize the available space. Enclosed rooms hinder natural light, contributing to a dim internal office environment.
To overcome these challenges, our proposed solutions involve a multifaceted strategy. This includes the introduction of height-adjustable work desks to meet ergonomic needs, the incorporation of phone pods for private work and short conference calls, and the use of operable walls to offer flexibility in space segregation.
A central aspect of our design philosophy is the integration of biophilic elements. The integration of biophilic elements such as preserved moss enhances sustainability and aesthetics without compromising the overall well-being of the occupants.
Acoustic optimization is another key consideration in our design proposal . Crucial in open-plan offices, the strategic placements of acoustics such as plush carpet tiles and fabric upholstery were key considerations in fostering a conducive work atmosphere.
To augment the amount of natural light within the office, we relocated small meeting rooms to core walls further maximizes natural light, ensuring unobstructed views and ample daylight for strategically positioned workstations.
Our proposed office transformation for CBMM adopts a holistic approach, addressing existing challenges and elevating functionality and aesthetics. This reflects our dedication to design excellence, employee well-being, and environmentally conscious practices.
